Isatinones A and B, new antifungal oxindole alkaloids from Isatis costata.

Two new oxindole alkaloids isatinone A (1) and B (2) have been isolated from Isatis costata, along with the known trisindoline. Their structures have been assigned on the basis of spectroscopic techniques and chemical studies. Both new compounds showed significant antifungal activity.

Rauniticine-allo-oxindole B and rauniticinic-allo acid B, new heteroyohimbine-type oxindole alkaloids from the stems of Malaysian Uncaria longiflora var. pteropoda.

Two new heteroyohimbine-type oxindole alkaloids, rauniticine-allo-oxindole B and rauniticinic-allo acid B, have been successfully isolated from the stems extract of Malaysian Uncaria longiflora var. pteropoda. The structures of the two new alkaloids were determined by spectroscopic analysis.

Neolamarckines A and B, new indole alkaloids from Neolamarckia cadamba.

Two new indole alkaloids, neolamarckines A and B (1, 2) were isolated from the leaves of Neolamarckia cadamba (Rubiaceae). Structural elucidation of 1 and 2 was performed by combination of 2D-NMR and circular dichroism (CD) spectra, and chemical correlations. Neolamarckine A (1) showed inhibition of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) dose dependently.

Polycitorols A and B, New Tricyclic Alkaloids from an Ascidian

Two new tricyclic alkaloids, polycitorols A (1) and B (2) have been isolated along with the known lepadiformine (3) from a marine ascidian of the family Polycitoridae. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by analysis of NMR data and comparison with those of 3 and other related compounds [1-5]. Compounds 1 and 2 are closely related to cylindricines A and B, lacking C-4 oxygenation...

Two new isoquinolone Alkaloids from Sauropus hirsutus

Sauropus androgynus (Euphorbiaceae) is a popular vegetable in Thailand. In 1995, the plant was associated with several cases of poisoning when used in a Taiwanese weight control method and the toxicity was attributed to its alkaloid content. We have therefore investigated a closely related Sauropus species, S. hirsutus. Extraction and isolation of chemical constituents from the aerial part of S...
